It seems our home is a refuge for strange bugs. This one was on the OUTSIDE of our house (thankfully--unlike some bugs!). It was seriously about three inches long and 1/2 inch in width. We found a really cool website for bug identification, called What's that bug? So for any of you closet entomologists (like myself), check it out.

We got a reply from whatsthatbug.com and this is Brown Prionid, a longhorned borer beetle that usually lives near water--odd since we haven't had rain in weeks!
