My girls are growing so fast. Elly has leaped up to 2T sized clothing in the past few months. Luckily, that is the size Eden was wearing during her almost-two-year-old summer. Eden is in 5-6 or 6x (what's the x for anyway?). Last summer I bought a bunch of size 5s at a garage sale figuring that she'd be fine in fives for a while (she was THREE after all) and she grew out of all of them. Fortunately for us, a family in Cl. who I used to work for before Dan and I married, blesses us with their little girl's hand-me-downs every once in a while. Eden absolutely LOVES the clothes and they are in great shape. She often talks about her "friend" Anna who gives her clothes, though they've never met!
We can't keep up with it. The other major change we've noticed is the grocery bill. It didn't seem like Eden made a dent in the budget until last year or so, but Elly's appetite has really thrown us for a loop. She can eat! We go through two gallons of milk, a loaf of bread, and at least one box of cereal per week, no to mention various snacks. And don't get me started on wet wipes, kleenex, toilet paper, and laundry detergent! Fresh fruit and peanut butter also have a way of disappearing on me.
I remember a friend saying once to me as they were trying to become pregnant, "How much do babies cost anyway?" Babies really don't cost too much--but kids do!
